Clergy Grants ProgramDear Friends, Members of the UUMA who are Parish or Community Ministers or Ministers of Religious Education and who have not yet been to Star Island are invited to attend a conference next summer as the guest of the Isles of Shoals Association Unitarian Universalist (ISAUU). Our Clergy Grants Program provides funding for the room and board expenses of UU clergy and their families at the conference of your choice. Our intent is to introduce you to Star Island conferences and to support your personal and professional relaxation and rejuvenation. The original Unitarian Summer Meetings Association was founded in 1896 to host conferences at Star Island in the belief that gatherings of Unitarian laypeople and clergy would set the stage for personal renewal and inspiration as well as strengthening the Unitarian movement. The ISAUU still believes this a century later and the Clergy Grants Program is an outgrowth of that vision. The program is administered in partnership with the UUMA. An application is available below and should be returned by February 15. Grant recipients are notified by March 1 and will receive vouchers to enclose with conference applications. Look for conference information at www.starisland.org. The Star Island Corporation sends the 2007 season program brochures to UU churches in January.
