Hundreds of people are members of the association, supporting our work with their memberships, contributions, and volunteer efforts. 

Much of what the Association contributes is discrete and behind the scenes at Star Island. Some recent support for Star Island included the purchase of rocking chairs, lanterns, and sports equipment, as well as funding for conference speakers and workshop leaders. 

We also publish works about the islands such as Ten Miles Out and The Bear Who Missed the Boat, and have recently republished The Isles of Shoals in Lore and Legend and Moonlight Murder at Smuttynose, both by Lyman V. Rutledge, as well as the Isles of Shoals Cookbook. In addition we operate the Shops on Star which include the Star Island Book Store, Gift Shop, and Lobby Store. All income from the Shops on Star support our activities.
